Minifigure Monday – The Ice Queen

It has been a while since I last did a Minifigure Monday post. Part of the reason was that I was waiting for frost and snow in order to take a number of my photos. The other part was work getting in the way again… Over my holidays, I have taken the time to write, photograph, and stockpile a few articles that will hopefully keep my blog flowing a little better now that I am going back to work and things will undoubtedly get busy again. In any case, here is this week’s Minifigure post.

This was a fun shot to take. I used a Christmas decoration made up of a bundle of artificially frosted branches and I placed it along side the Ice Queen on a very glossy wooden table top. I lit a candle for the lighting. I then played around in Photoshop to get the blueish tint and add the falling snow. Below you can see the original, unedited picture that I took. At the end of the article you will find the full Ice Queen picture after I was finished playing around with it.

As a Minifigure, the Ice Queen well designed. She has white, Star-Wars-like-Leia hair that you can attach her ice tiara to. While she does not have a double-sided face, the front of her torso, dress, and the sides of her arms have nice printing. The Ice Queen has no printing at all on her back, but it is covered by a cape which is made out a shiny material not normally used in LEGO. As accessories, she come with two blasts of ice that attach to her hands nicely. I am not really a huge fan of the dress pieces, but overall, she is a good looking Minifig. I give the Ice Queen 8/10.

As always, I’d love hear your thoughts. Until next time,

-T.N.B.
